  • my DD has it and I was told that it doesnt affect her in any way, and they will dissappear completly by the time she is 8 years old. Although sometimes, they can be internal and require surgery. Has your doctor checked for internal hemangioma?

  • It's just like a swollen blood vessel. They're very common and most are non-problematic.

  • From what I found by googling, they are composed of capillaries. They grow for the first year of life and then started decreasing in size. By age 9, 90% of them are gone. They appear in 10% of causcasions and less in other races.

My sister had one, but it went away by the time she was about 7.
