On top..?

Is it better to be on top while having sex to break your water, or does it not really matter which way you are?

  • Sex to break your water? Never heard that before. I heard of havin sex to TRY to start labor and soften your cervix, but not to actually break the water.... Why would you do that?

  • sex wont break your water LOL. that's really funny. Sperm contains prostaglandins that may soften your cervix and orgasms cause contractions which could cause labor contractions... but neither are a sure fire way to go into labor, or break your water.

  • jsut the act of having sex might start labor if you are already ready to have labor.

  • Sex will not break your water, although it can help induce labor but it has nothing to do with what position you are in - it's from your husband's sperm. :) Do it in any position you want!

  • LOL I needed a good laugh today. Sex on top def isnt going to break your water. Any position the sperm is going into the V is a good one. So women on top to doggy style the sperm is going the work the same way! : ]
