has ne one on here had gest diabetes? if so how big was ur baby at birth? and whats some good stuff i can eat?

  • I did not have Gest DM but I have a good friend who did. Her daughter was 11lbs 9oz. You basically need vitamins and minerals, lots of fiber, lower fat, low sugar and to be careful with the carbs. Sugar and carbs can contribute to a large baby. You can google "diabetic diets" to find some good suggestions or recipes.

    Your doctor will monitor you along the way and keep you updated on your baby's size so try not to worry too much :-) Good luck!

  • I had GD. My son weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces. As far as diet you need high protien, low carb.
