asked earlyer but i want more advice or answers

im 40 weeks and iv been posting alot of questions
but i had been having contractions since the 14th
i went to the doc on monday
and he told me i had an "unfavorable" cervix
well i still had really bad contractions till this morning i woke up
and they are like gone i have not felt one all day
i feel like my body has given up on trying to start labor
can that happen??????
my dad said maybe its good that they stopped
cuz it could be "the calm before the storm"
anyone else think this?????

  • The ones before were prolly braxton hicks. Just give it time. I dont have much advice because I was like this and just ended up getting induced. And you dont want that.

  • Why would you need a nst at 40 weeks? You body just has to work on each of the different things it is doing. First time moms average gestation length is 41 weeks 1 day... that means you could be anyday now or another week or so. Don't worry... women are designed to have children, you are no different.
What happened to your plans for seeing a midwife?

  • You can go from a closed, hard cervix to an open dilating cervix in hours... that is how bodies are so amazing.
Sorry... I thought you had mentioned that you were going to see a midwife a while back... my misunderstanding.
