What "social status" would you place your family income in?

Lower class, working class, middle class, upper middle class, or high class? This has nothing to do with your morals or how well you live, I'm asking based on income. I don't need to know what your income is either.

  • It depends on where you're living. My hubby is in the Army and makes pretty good money so I would say middle class/upper middle class. But if we lived in California it would probably be working class.

  • Income? Wow, seriously we have very little. Most of what dh makes goes back into running the business. So what we actually "take home" would make us probably working class.

  • Somewhere between lower class and working class. Poor enough to need a little help via public assistance, but living paycheck to paycheck.

  • Where do I fall under if I make $5,000 a year and $5,000 rec'ved from child support. But I own a house that is paid for and only pay $1,000 prop taxes? I am a frugal person and learn to live with what I have. oh, ok, I think I am officially poor and I get no help from the Government. People ask me how I do it and I just say "I don't know I just do". It is only my son and I.

  • Working class I would say only has what they need to live by and works "just to get by". Middle class I would say lives a little more comfortably with a little extra spending money.
