Would you take a 5% paycut to save jobs for your coworkers?

If you're employer said, "In order to keep people from getting laid off or fired in our company, everyone must agree to a 5% paycut."

  • Yes i would... I wouldnt want anyone to lose there job around here... They went down to 32 once and i just cried... We all have to stick together if we are going to make it...

  • So would I - without hesitation. I would expect upper management to trim the fat on their expenses before they decided to give everyone else a decrease, though.

  • no! Before anyone jumps me I make 7 an hour. We have also given up anywheres between 5-10 (Me 10) hours a week to avoid layoffs. I think I have given enough.

  • To the person that makes $7/hr...that $0.35/hr is going to make that big a difference in your daily life? There isn't $2.80 you could cut out so that someone else could continue to work at all??!??

  • We couldn't afford to pay our bills with any kind of cut. So no.
