I started giving my 4 month old rice cereal and now she is fighting her naps and going to sleep at bedtime - any suggestions???

  • Stop the cereal it sounds like it is upsetting her tummy. Just because a doctor or whomever suggests that it is ok to feed a child at 4 months does not mean baby or baby's belly is ready. Hang in there and try again in a few weeks. There is no rush to feed baby and most Dr's suggest waiting until 6 months to make sure the digestive tract is fully developed and ready.

  • It may not be the cereal at all. A lot of babies fight sleep. If she is uncomfortable then stop the cereal and try again in a few weeks. My LO can't eat cereal so we moved on to veggies and then to fruit. Pay attention to her cues and see how she does. Good luck.

  • If you dont stop the cereal all together (which you probably should) at least cut back on the cereal. They usually recommend starting new foods in the morning so they have all day to digest it. Otherwise youre in for a long night.
