What's your daughter's favorite toy? My dd is turning 1 in 3 weeks and I need some ideas for birthday presents. Thanks!

  • Here are some suggestions I gave a mom yesterday:
    General toys:
a soft squishy ball for indoor ball play (like a gertie ball)
    Baby Dolls
A shopping cart, toddler wagon, or sturdy doll stroller. Each can be used for all the other things so you only need one.
Puzzles with big pieces and big knobs on the pieces
Toddler musical instruments like shakers and drums
    Books, books, and more books

    Specific Toys:
Leap Frog Fridge Phonics is great (the Letter Factory DVD is great too)
Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank
Fisher Price Rock, Roll & Ride Trike - can be used inside as a rocking toy, has a push bar so you can push them outside, and makes a great trike when they are able to peddle
    MagnaDoddle or AquaDoddle

My daughter is 2.5 now and the Fridge Phonics, balls, blocks, trike and cars have seen the most use.

  • Her grandparents bought her this mickey mouse airplane that she sits on and rides using her feet. it sings songs, has a storage place under the seat, and the foam propeller lights up in really cool colors and spins. SHE LOVES IT. she also got it for her first birthday- she played with it FOREVER when we got home! here is a link to a picture of it- I highly recommend this toy!

  • My daughter is almost 2, and she LOVES to carry a little purse around the house. She is a typical girl...even though I am very much a "tom-boy". She loves her purse and her baby.

  • My daughter will be 2 next week and she doesn't really have a favorite toy other then her stuffed "puppies". But she does like to sit on the bathroom counter after baths and get into everything while I comb her hair out. I'm thinking of getting her her own little toy vanity.

  • For my dd 1st bday last year we spluged and got a redwagon with seatbelts, cupholders and beachwheels. It came in so handy when the warm weather hit. We used constantly and still do (she just turned 2 last week). This year we are going for a bike safety seat so we will have that for the summer.
