  • for my infant I give him Tri-Vi-Sol I think it's by enfamil... The doctor recommended that I give it to him a few times a week since I am BF him... Babies who are BF tend not to absorb all the calcium they need so they need vitamin D to help with that. She says I can FF him a few times a week also instead of giving him the vitamins... sine formula has vitamin in it already

  • I started giving mine one at about 2 years old when she started refusing all sorts of foods. A child who eats well does not need one at all. Extra vitamins can actually harm a child.
Since my child is very picky, she gets 1/4 of a Centrum Children's Chewable each day to help cover any gaps left by her picky eating. The directions say to give 1/2 a tablet for this age range but since she does eat some good foods, I give her only 1/4 so I don't overload her with any particular vitamin.

  • I buy natural vitamins from Animal Parade. They are chewables, and she has been taking them since she was around 18 months and loves them. Many of the wal-mart ones have too much sugar in them, etc. I just stick with my all natural, no artificial colors etc.

  • they're not necessary at this age unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
vitamin rich foods are a much better when for growing bodies to take in what they need.

  • MY twins were preemies and on Tri Vi Sol until they were 1. The doctor advised to stop the vitamins at 1 because their growing slows down and they no longer need the extra boost from vitamins.

I recommend talking to your pediatrician before introducing vitamins. Too much of certain vitamins are a bad thing.
