How can i get my 1yr. old daugther to stop breastfeeding?????

  • If you feel you are both ready it should be done slowly. Drop one feeding a day, every few days.. the best feedings to drop are morning first. Night time and naptime feedings are the last to go usually because they are the ones the baby is more attached to.

  • i know this sounds horrrrrible because that is what i thought with my youngest but they will eat the bottlw when they are hungry enough dont be afriad that she will starve or never stop crying!!!! i also found it helpfull to pump milk for the bottle for her first couple bottle feedings then go to pumpeped milke and formula with no breaats then formula with no pump

  • I wouldn't wean from breast to the bottle, but to a sippy cup.

    DO NOT GO COLD TURKEY. Fastest way to serious pain.

    Drop one feeding per week till gone. Start with the least favorite feeding, and go on from there.

  • Why do you feel that you need to now that she is one? She still needs the nutrients, comfort, and most importantly, the anitbodies especially since she is a toddler now. Is there outside pressure, or is it soley your decision? Try looking on for tips on nursing an older baby or toddler.
