Cooking rice in the crock pot?

Can you cook rice in the crock pot and if so how?

  • I don't see why not. use the same measurments as stove top but increse time to a few hours on high or more on low.

  • The dish I made the other day had brown rice in it. The recipe called for 3 cups of rice and 9 cups of water and it took like 7 hours for the rice to be soft. If you just want the rice for dinner it's much easier to just cook it on the stove. If you like rice a lot get a rice cooker. We have one and it makes things easier.
