Texas birth certificate...

my daughter was born in sept of 08 i still haven't gotten her certificate does any one know how long it takes?

  • well i was waiting for my too so i call my midwife and she told me the they dont mail them u have to get it at the health district near u and get it

  • You don't get a birth certificate. It's kept at the county courthouse.

    If you want a certified copy, you'll need to go down to the courthouse & pay a small fee.

  • Yeah all you get is the mother's copy. You have to request a certified copy.

  • Yep. When my son was born the lady that came to give us all the paperwork for the birth certificate told us it would be about 7-10 weeks so after that we had to go down to the county record's office and pay $17 for a copy.

  • You can order a copy online and it only took a few weeks to get it in the mail.
