How many times a day do you hear....

"Mommy, I'm hungry"

Seriously, I'm starting to think DD4 has a tape worm. If it were up to her she would eat all day long. Is this normal?

  • My son is 4 and weighs 50lbs. He LOVES to eat!
For breakfast he eats a pop tart and a nutrgrain bar and then goes to school and has breakfast there too!
The min that boy opens his eyes he wants to eat!
We call him the machine! lol

  • my 6yo stepson went through a phase like that when he was 5. It never stopped. Just make sure you're giving her mostly healthy foods and it will be ok! Sometimes when he would beg for food I would offer him a fruit or veggie and he would miraculously not be hungry anymore too :)

  • your daughter could have a high metabolism. or just going through a growth spurt. If your that worried about your daughter eating talk to her doctor. My daughter gets like that when she is growing and she has started when she sees me eating and she doesn't get anything. I just tell her that she has already ate and now its mommy's turn.

  • After she's done being Hungry... its "Mommy, I want something else." My daughter has a high metabolism and I make sure to feed her healthier things rather than junk. Also, she rearly gets a snack and mainly eats a lot at mealtimes.

  • I think it's a growth spurt. My 4 y/o will finish dinner & ask for a snack!

  • my 4 almost 5 yr. step son eats in spurts. some days that is all he does. other days you can't get him to finish his dinner. today he ate 2 bowls of cereal - less than 2 hours later at 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. then went to preschool and had a snack. after school as soon as i dropped him off at his moms he was getting out another snack. lol.

    they are growing...

  • I always figure Hunger is diff in diff kids. So I let them eat however much they want of what I CHOOSE. I put out little snack plates on the weekends, fruit, veggies, turkey slices etc.
That way I don't hear "I'm hungry...." all the time, but they have the choice to eat however much they want.
    Good luck!!!
    He'll slow down soon.
