  • We started with a developmental pediatrician and were referred to a pediatric psychologist. After 4 months of seeing him, we have an ADHD diagnosis and a preliminary one of PDD-NOS.

It takes more than one test. I would never rely on a diagnosis given after one test. We had questionnaires filled out by us (the parents), his teachers and anyone else who spent a lot of time with him. We also have tried behavior modification and management to no avail.

All of his evaluations started when he was 3...he's just turned 5.

  • To be sure you need a formal diagnosis. Talk to your pediatrician.

how old is he. Its very hard to tell if a young child has ADD or ADHD or if its just typical boy stuff.

  • How old is your child? A lot of children are hyper and need attention.
There's an 8 hour test for Dr's to decide if a child is ADD/ADHD.
