How do you deal with lymphedema?

I understand that there is no cure . My daughter has it in her leg due to scar tissue left from a hemangioma birthmark. She is 22 years old and trying to be an English teacher but it keeps interfering in the form of swelling and serious infections.

  • My mom has it in her arm. She recently got a bad infection that hospitalized her for a week. I found this info on webmd.com: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/how-to-manage-lymphedema

It is my understanding that she has to manage it by keeping the fluid moving in the appendage. My mom has a prescribed stocking she has to wear on her arm. She also goes to physical therapy and they prescribed exercises for her to continue doing.
