My 3 week old DD has liquid leaking out of her nipples and the area around them is hard and a tad bit large. Anyone know why or what is going on?

  • Some mamas will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe thats totally normal. Its due to the hormones her body still has from being in your hormone filled womb. That should go away soon though.

  • MamaChamp is correct. My daughter had the same thing. It is normal.

  • Normal in newborns, because of mom's hormones still in their bodies.

  • That is totally normal. My DD warned me of that at her 1st appointment so I wouldn't freak out when it happened. Newborns have their mom's hormones still in their bodies. My DD even had vaginal discharge like I had right before I went in labor. The pediatrician even told me that the same thing will happen to newborn boys.

  • My daughter had the same thing happened to her. I also read somewhere that it can happen to baby boys. It is the results of hormones that is still lingering in their little bodies.
