I had a baby 3 1/2 weeks ago. What is the "usual" amount of bleeding and when should I be alarmed and call my doctor?

  • heavy bleeding for a while is normal. My dr said if clots were bigger than a quarter then call him. If you get majorly concerned, call him. You paid for his service, use it.

  • I agree with the above! You will have some clots- so only worry if they are big. My doctor told me golf ball size. Also- make sure you are taking it as easy as you can. You may be feeling better- but your body is healing. If you overexert yourself- your bleeding will get heavier. So make sure to take time off your feet!
