When did your children stop to take a map after lunch?

My daughter is 19 month old. Some days she's full of life and doesn't sleep, some days she so tiered out that hse asks to go to bed. I usually go along with that, but I was wondering when will be the time to stop sleeping during the day at all?

  • My son is four and for my sanity (and the fact that he gets up too early) he still takes a nap, it's not longer than an hour or hour and a half but it's nice!

IMHO it might be time for you to set up a routine for nap time if you dont already have one. instaed of just laying her down, give her her lunch, read a couple books, sing a few calming songs, maybe lay her down and pat or rub her back ...and then walk out. A routine will get her mind and body prepared for what is going to happen next.

  • kids still take naps in kindergarten so they should continue at home also whenever possible, until they go to the first grade, just to give mom some rest time..........even if they dont sleep........unless you have one of those rare few kids who absolutely will not go to sleep at night when they take a nap...........then it is time to stop it!
