what are some good beginner food?

my son is 8 months old and he eats all the gerber food but doesnt like stage 3 dinner meals. he does like a gagging thing. what table foods are good to start him on that would help him get over the gagging thing? and what foods in general do you start with to get him eating table food?

  • avocado, scrambled eggs (some people say wait till 1 year b/c of allergies, but we didn't), mashed bananas, chunky apple sauce, plain yogurt ( or mix in a fruit puree)///
    IMO the Gerber stage 3 things are gross.

  • my nephew loved and still does mashed potatoes. but you can always mush up some cooked veggies. i am getting ready to enter this stage, so i would love to hear some more ideas.

  • Avocado is pretty good. You can cut it into bite size pieces and it mushy enough for them to eat. Pretty much any cooked vegetable. You could also try cooking pasta so it's a little more mushy then you would normally eat it.
