  • I dunno. I would say not until after 7-8 months.. We didn't do cereals though, so I don't really know. No earlier than 6 months though!

  • My personal opinion: No sooner then 6 mos, but it doesn't HAVE to be 6 mos, it can be later.

  • my son started at 4 months but that us because he has a soy and lactose and protein intolerance, and almost all baby cereals have soy lecithin in them he also has reflux and the oatmeal helped keep his PH level down. Most pedis recommend holding off on oatmeal until at least 6 months and if your starting cereals at 6 months to begin with to wait a good 3-4 weeks before starting oatmeal it is harder to digest than rice cereal

  • My DD had really bad reflux and constipation brought on by the soy formula she was on. Her pedi told me to put oatmeal in her bottle at 2 months. I know her circumstances are unusual but that's when she started oatmeal.

  • I started giving my DD rice cereal in her bottles at 3 mos. At 4 mos we started rice cereal in a bowl. Around 5 months we started oatmeal in a bowl, and now she gets the Oatmeal cereal with DHA in her bottles (she switched to whole milk at 5 mos). I think as long as you wait a few weeks between the rice cereal and the oatmeal you should be fine.
