NAMES FOR GRANDPARENTS?

I need 3 sets of names for grandparents, and my dad and step mom want something that sounds young still. Any suggestions?

  • I tried and tried and tried to get my son to call my parents Grandpa and Grandma, but he still chose what he was going to call them. They ended up being Papa and Grammie, but my poor mom was almost MeMaw Moo...

  • I read in my mom's grandparenting magazine that they suggest the grandparents name themselves. I thought that was cute. I called all of my grandparents "Grandma" and "Grandpa." My mom and dad are "Nanny" and "Poppy" to my son. My husband's parents are "Grandma" and "Grandpa" (although my FIL wanted to be called "Bill" lol). My dad's grandparents were "MamMam" and "Pappy." Other names are "MomMom," "PopPop," "Grammy," "Grampy," "Nana,"MeMa...." I don't think very many names for grandparents sound particularly young though. Good luck and congrats!
