would you trust your doctor if........

Your pregnant and very sick. Your doctor doesnt even bother to look you over, he just says its just an infection and will have to run its course. This is the same doctor who is supposed to deliver your baby (he is my ob and pcp). You end up a week later going to the urgent care and finding out that you have and ear infection(ear drum is being sucked back so you cant hear for 9 days at this point.)as well as an sinus infection and a little chest infection. Would this damamge your trust in this doctor to deliver your baby?(presonally I am severely pissed off and not to sure about docs medical abilities.)

  • Personally I would not take any chances, if there is a chance to change doctors then take it, definitely. Since it seems even if they do have medical abilities they're not using them! Good Luck!

  • I wouldn't trust him. It seems like he can't be bothered, which is not a good trait in a doc.

  • Get friends opinions on their ob's who take your insurance for info on other doctors. Some obs that have midwives and obs or practices that have NURSE PRACTIONERS and obs are very very patient oriented. More than just ob practices. Almost every practice has a website, if a doctor or even dentist doesn't have a website I won't even consider them. Feel better, I'm so sorry you're sick!!

  • If this happened where I live, there wouldn't really be much of a choice since there are only two OBs within 80 miles of here. I disagree with one's philosophy on how to treat pregnancy and birth, so I'd still probably give my OB a second chance.
