  • go to home depot or walmart may have it, and get a big roll of paper from the paint department. grab a couple fingerpaint kits, roll the paper out on the kitchen floor (or the garage if you have one and a space heater) and set the diapered babies out to play! Show them how to do their feet, their hands, and you can cut parts of the sheet out, stick it in a cheap frame, and hang it up, for party favors, you can hand some out to other mothers too!

  • I got lucky having a summer baby. For his first birthday, we'll just set up a kiddie pool and some bubble stations in the back yard. It will be great. I really like matobe's suggestion.

  • Cupcakes...you can decorate them up and they are just as fun as a regular cake.

Maybe one of those little bouncy ball things. You know the blow up thing with balls in it.

Just keep it simple, he wont need a whole lot. With 1st birthdays its mostly about you and the other adults. The birthday child doesnt really care except for getting hugs and kisses.
