Why does my 11 month old rock back and forth--on his hands & knees--sometimes even when he is sleeping

He rocks back and forth on his knees--he seems to do it more when he is tired...I saw him doing it when he was moving around in his crip--sleeping at night. Is it relaxing?

  • It's just very comforting and relaxing to him. It's actually very common.

  • My daughter did that until she learned to walk. She didn't do it when she was sleeping. Does your child do it for a comfort thing at night? Just a guess.
