Can girls "pass" a UTI infection to each other?

For the past two days I have watched my dd and wondered if she had a mild uti. She is 3 but doesnt speak well, so she cant tell me how she feels. But this morning I woke up with an obvious UTI.

We are BOTH going to the Dr this morning.

But is it just a conisidence or can they be passed somehow?

  • I think it's more likely that you somehow got it from the same source.

  • I get them all the time and I can tell you that you can not pass that on. I know that with kids it is had to be sure if they have it or not but it good that you are getting the her checked to.
I hope that she is okay and that you get better soon.

  • No, a UTI is cause by bacteria finding its way into the urethral opening (your pee hole).

If you both take bubble baths, that is a common way to catch a UTI, but you didn't catch it from her.
