Do you like meatloaf?

I've never had it but I found a pic that looked good. I've got 3 picky kids and a picky man so I'm not sure if I want to try it or not.

  • It can either be really good or really bad. I like mine, but hate my mil's. She puts a bunch of veggies in it - ew! Try it, it can't hurt!!

  • my son is the king of picky eaters! The only meat he will eat is my meatloaf.
I use 2 lbs lean ground beef
    2 eggs
2 slices of bread torn into tiny pieces
    chopped half onion
4 shakes of the worchestershire sauce bottle
1/2 tablespoon lawreys season, pepper, parsley and tsp. garlic powder
sometimes I add 1/3 cup A1 steak sauce for variety
mix together by hamnd for a few minutes and shape into loaf cover with ketchup
bake 375 for an hour and 20 minutes

  • My kids are picky too....I just tell them it's a really big hamburger. They'll eat it - I always make it with mashed potatoes. Leftover meatloaf makes yummy sandwiches the next day.

  • sorry about the word misspelled word "hamnd", it was supposed to be "hand"
I was distracted by a 4 yr old telling me he wants a ketchup sandwich, lol, and no he's not getting it. Gotta love boys!

  • Meatloaf and stuffing are the only two normal things served in the States and I will NOT eat nor will I cook them for my family...ehhhh

Answer by mamakirs at 2:43 PM on Mar. 3, 2009

  • Depends on how it is made. My kids love my meat loaf.

I use 1 lb gr beef, 1 lb gr turkey, 1/2 c oatmeal, 1 package frozen chopped spinach (thaw and squeeze out all the water) 2 tsp garlic and salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce and Ketchup, 1 egg. Mix well and put into a loaf pan. Bake at 350* for about 45 minutes. You can do it with out the spinach, just add and extra tbsp of ketchup.
