Do you think it would still be okay to use chicken that said on the package "Purchase by Feb. 27". I had it in the refridgerator not the freezer. Do you think it still okay to cook?

  • If you don't know after smelling it, don't take the chance. The cost of the chicken is much less than the cost to go to the doctor.

  • When in doubt, throw it out. It should be good for at least one day from the last day of purchase, but 4 days- probably still OK, but not worth the worry.

  • Get rid of it. Chicken or any poultry spoils easy, just smelling isn't enough.
Food poisening is not something you want to go through. Better safe then sorry.

  • I never use poultry after the sell by date. It goes bad too quickly. Not worth the risk.

  • I don't take any risks when it comes to chicken. I would throw it out and go buy a new pack.
