Uterus Spasms???

Has anyone else experienced uterus spasms... it feels like a muscle spasms just in my uterus there is no pain but i was just wondering if it was normal early on in pregnancy? i am 4 weeks

  • It's cramping, same thing as contractions. And yes, it's very normal. Everyone starts cramping and contracting pretty much right away at the very beginning of pregnancy because your uterus is growing and stretching, but not everyone feels it or is aware of it. You're just sensitive. :-) The rule of thumd is that cramping is fine, and spotting is fine, but cramping and spotting together warrants a call to the doctor. Heavy bleeding and/or severe pain require a trip to the ER.

  • is this your 1st baby? because after i had my daughter i still felt those muscle spasms or "phantom kicks" as one mom called them :P i still to this day feel them and my daughter is a year old! oh, and i'm 7 weeks preg with baby #2. so if this isn't your 1st then it's pretty normal, but if this is your 1st, then it could be because of the contracting and whatnot that bluefrogmama mentioned.
