Concussion

Ok so dd fall into a door frame and hit so hard she bounced off and fell into the floor i'm worried she might have a concussion i need ideas to help keep her awake for an hour to make sure she dont show signs of a concussion thanks ladies.

  • Did she puke? Did she lose consciousness? Are her eyes red? Does she act normal? Sleepy? How old is she?

  • I have been told by MANY doctors that you do not have to keep them awake. You are supposed to let them sleep, just keep an eye on them. Keeping them awake can make them drowsy act like something is wrong with them when they are just tired. You don't even have to wake them up, just lightly grab their hand or foot when they are sleeping and make sure you get some kind of reaction from them, as in them pulling away. As long as you get a response from them, and they are acting normal while awake, they are fine.

  • The only reason they say to keep them awake is to keep the blood from pooling in one section of the brain....you can let her sleep but move her every now and then.
    Check her pupils....turn the light off and on and if they are larger in the dark and get smaller in the light than she should be ok...it's amazing how many terrible hits a baby's little head can take....
