Crawling

My dd has been getting on all fours and rocking back and forth for sometime, but then just lunges forward and starts over. Is this normal? Will she eventually get the hang of moving hands and knees?
I am not rushing it, just wondering, my nephew never did this.

  • lol.. Auria does this all the time!!! The next step will be when she starts to move her hands and realizes she can kinda go somewhere that way.. that might lead to army crawling (arm over arm) or she might realize that her legs move too and just start going! Wow.. she's learning faster than we are over here.. Auria has NO interest in moving her legs, just gets pissed and falls down screaming.

  • yes, alot of babies rock to get a better sense of balance before they crawl. it's not far off now.

  • Yup, my daughter did this for a couple weeks and then went backwards! before she realized she could go forwards! LOL so cute! but she still liked to roll for a while even though she could crawl because she got there faster!

  • my little one has been doing this for weeks now... he finally started moving one of his hands... but he just hasn't figured it out yet. He does scoot backwards, rolls around to move and can easily get on all fours... he does a beautiful downward dog pose! LOL. I keep saying he'll be crawling soon but it's been weeks!
