  • Yes I do, just because I don't like something doesn't mean he won't like. But I am very careful about letting my son know what foods I don't like, I don't want him to dislike something just because mommy doesn't like it. When I fix a vegetable that I don't like, I still put it on my plate so my son won't know I don't like it. Like I hate carrots but he loves them, he doesn't even know I hate carrots.

  • I would never have my daughter eat something that disgusts me-like cooked spinach or liver. When she is older I will expect her to try different foods. But I don't think you should make a child eat anything.

  • Not if they try it first. But they are not going to tell me they don't like something that never hit their tongue. If they try it and don't like it, I don't force it. But they MUST try it to determine that! Smile.

  • sure. ...my DS doesnt mind onions. I HATE them. ...but i like pickles and he doesnt. he also likes pineapple and i dont. but i like mushrooms and he doesnt. **shrugs** no big deal. just bc i dont like something doesnt mean that he will feel the same way. I always make him take at least ONE bite of whatever i put on his plate, even if i know it's something he doesnt like. ...but i also dont put stuff on his plate that i know he doesnt like on any sort of regular basis. But it is important to constantly re-introduce foods to children. as they grow their tastebuds change and for many children texture seems to be a problem. If they try it enough, they may get over the texture issue when they realize that the food tastes yummy!

  • I don't. I don't make foods I don't like. If someone else makes something for them that I don't like, then I follow the same rule as anything else: they must try one bite first. I don't tell them I don't like something, I act like it's any other food, and just casually eat around it. So far, they've yet to notice. I figure by the time they are old enough to notice, I can just tell them I don't like it, b/c they will have determined if they like it or not. And they eat lots of things I don't like, like bananas and tomatoes. I just make sure to buy it for them.

  • no I don't and I am a very picky eater. My hubby will ask her to try something he is eating and I tell him don't have her try that, that is nasty lol. But sometimes she will try stuff and like it yuck lol but I wouldn't ever make my kids try something I don't like myself
