Obama nominated Craig Fugate, who has had 8 years EXECUTIVE emergency management experience as the Director of Florida's Division of Emergency Management. He has led Florida through every hurricane since 2001.
This is not even on the same playing field as Bush's last director - Michael Brown. (Who, if you recall, had previously been an Administrative Assistant)
So, is THIS change you can believe in?

Nobody is bashing, what's the problem? I said that we would see come hurricane season. Running emergency management for a state is different than running it for the country. I hope he does a bang up job, but that's yet to be seen. Hopefully though, we won't have any major issues with storms this season. Makes me wonder how he would have handled the ice storms.

Sounds like a better pick than a fired horseshow atty who was college roomies with one of your cronies. Def better qualifications.
Funny how the Reps get pissy when Obama supporters say we will wait and see how it works out but it's ok for them to say it.

Friday, considering we have to wait for an emergency for him to put his skills to work, there is no other way than to "wait and see." He sounds qualified and experienced. Two things I love to see in any position.
