  • We are about 100 a week too. We buy chicken, pasta, lots of veggies (eggplant, zucchini, onions). This has been a little tricky for me. One thing I have learned is to watch for things on sale. Not necessarily plan a meal and buy around that. For instance, the brand of whole wheat pasta I buy goes on sale about once a month for 4 for $5 a box. I buy several boxes at a time. I prefer organic meats, milk, cheese, and produce as well. Buying on sale really helps since organic can be more expensive. Also, if I find something on sale, I buy it and than find a recipe for it. has a recipe finder that allows you to put an item in and it will bring up all the recipes with it. I did this last week for eggplant and asparagus.

    Good luck!
