New mom survival kit?

A girl in one of my groups is looking for ideas for a "new mom survival kit". Its a gift for her friend for a baby shower and shes looking for ideas to fill it with. Ive run out of ideas!! It must be things that are small enough to fit in a basket, she was thinking aspirin, bubble bath things like that. what would you want in your new mom survival kit?

  • Nail polish, ear plugs as a joke, romance novels or any other kind of book for that matter. coupons for any kind of baby food/formula/wipes/diapers. Have a cute little spiral notebook filled with little things her friends, family can write in at her shower that have encouraging words, advice, or people just saying, 'you are a great mom' and you can write, 'in case of emergencies' on it. Different kinds of flavored tea, coupons for a clothing store she really likes to shop at, chap sticks, lip gloss, tiny tubes of anti bacterial hand lotions, sun glasses to hide the bags under eyes from sleepless nights, fuzzy socks ( during night feedings, my feet would get so cold) REcipe cards of dinners that can be made in 15 minutes.

  • Does she plan to nurse? Some Lansinoh and nursing pads maybe? Slippers or comfy socks? Lip balm, nice lotion...

  • Someone gave me these gel filled things you put on your breasts when you're engorged or otherwise pained and they were amazing. You can freeze them or microwave them. You can get them at babies r us in the nursing section.

  • You all have great ideas! I think you should also put chocolate in there.
