Need a history lesson?

I will admit never was big on history while in school but the other question that was going about America as a republic but we are called a deomocracy so much so when did it start shifting to a democracy. I watched a video about the different roles in government that explains the different roles but did not give you a understanding why we are a democracy when suppose to be a republic.

  • I am still learning about history and politics but from what I understand.....We are a Republic with democratically elected representatives.  If we were a true democracy then everything would be put to the people in a vote, instead we elected reps who are supposed to be our voice. Republic and Democracy have little to do with our current political parties.
