"You can catch more bees with honey than with vinegar"

"You can catch more bees with honey than with vinegar"

We all know that this is a metaphor but who would really wanna catch bees anyway? You can also catch mosquitos and gnats..and bears... Couldn't someone come up with a better cliche? lol

  • I think it was a statement for the time when people did want to catch bees. Honey didn't always come in a jar! Vinegar is a way to deter bees. If you put a dish out, it's supposed to keep them away. I love cliches because they tell something interesting about the time or people who started saying them. They do go out of style though!
