  • Aww yet anothe "cute" little play on words that is getting old. It's like the old man who only knows 5 jokes and he feels the need to tell each one every single day no matter how many times you've heard them before.

  • Well the stock market began crashing before Obama was elected so I don't know if it could be blamed on either president. What I think it does have to do with is "lack of faith" in our government as a whole.

  • I don't believe it can be attributed to just one person who holds one political office. But I do place a lot of blame on the republican controlled congress (first 6 years of Bush's presidency) because they completely abandoned fiscal responsibility. They are supposed to be the party of smaller government and they did a lot of damage to our country with their reckless spending. I also put some blame on Bush as he pushed for (and lied for) and unnecessary war that cost cost our country a fortune. Why is it right that the Iraq government can have a budget surplus but we had to go into debt for them? Bush completely abandoned our mission in Afghanistan and now THAT country is worse off. If we had stayed there, we wouldn't be in as bad a situation as we are.

  • The stock market has fallen lower than it has since 1983 since the day Obama was elected. He has proven in a little over a month just what he doesnt know and all of those who voted for him will be sorry when the rest of us loose our jobs our homes etc because he has taken a bad economy and is finishing off putting it in the toilet!

  • But you cannot seperate the two. It is the stock market. The downward spiral started one administration, which led to scares and a lack of confidence which lead to a bigger lack of confidence and on and on. You cannot seperate the stock market of the Bush administration from the stock market of the current administration. Especially as there hasn't been enough time for the stock market to recover under the new administration. You cannot expect overnight miracles, it doesn't happen that way.

  • Grace, you're right. The market reacts daily to what is going on in the world. It's simple economics. The people trading on the floor aren't looking 6 years ago, they are looking at what is going on RIGHT NOW. Therefore, the current drop the current administration must take responsibility for. They have decided to ignore economists in the hopes of fixing the economy, and the economy is rebelling. It would be like ignoring a hostile dog's trainer and trying to train it yourself with no experience. You're gonna get bit.
