  • My son is 9 months and 16lbs. He was 5lbs 9oz at birth though. It's definitely possible for a 14month old to weigh that much, possibly she was preemie.

  • My son is 3.5 months and is 15lbs lol. He's extremely long. My husband weighed 25lbs when he was 12 months (also very long, and is very tall now). 16lbs at 14 months seems really light to me. I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder. I assume that as long as the weight is in healthy correspondence to height and the baby's BMI is within normal limits, their weight can be "normal" or "healthy" regardless of what we assume to be normal or healthy :-)

  • Sounds kinda under weight to me but kids are different. My son weighed 10 pounds at birth so it wasn't long before he weighed 16 pounds. My great niece is 8 months and is a petite little thing like her momma and she weighs 14 pounds. The dr's are always getting onto my niece because the baby's so small. But hell, my niece is 25 and only weighs 89 pounds. So who knows.

  • My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 19 lbs. She was a preemie. Maybe the one your asking about was a preemie?

  • My daughter weighs 16 pounds at 10 1/2 months. She's a little girl, but she wasnt premature. Yes it's possible, and not abnormal. I'm small, and most children in my family weigh 20 pounds or less for the first couple years.

Babies come in a huuuuge variety :)

  • I personally don't think being premature has a lot to do with it bc my son was 5 weeks premature and is now just about 7Months old weighing 19lbs. It might have a little to do with it but I wouldn't bet on it. Its very possible tho for that little girl to be so well...little.
