When can I stop burping my daughter?

My DD is 6 months, BF, and sits up alone. She pushes up on her hands and knees like she's going to start crawling. She doesn't like to be burped so I was wondering when I can stop burping her? I don't remember when we stopped with my first daughter that's why I'm asking.

  • Aw, mommyofAurora took my answer! LOL! If she can sit up, she shouldn't have any trouble burping on her own. The fact that she doesn't want you to do it seems to say, "I can do it myself!"

  • I think I stopped burping Kaylee half as much when she was about 4 months cause I would just sit her up and she would do it on her own, and definitely by 6 months I wasn't doing it anymore. There is the rare occasion that she will get a high pitched squeal and I know its gas pains, so I rub her belly and pat her back, but definitely not on a regular basis.
