Can anyone recommend a good book?

I'm in a reading rut. Can anyone give some good suggestions? I don't like mysteries, Sci-Fi, or anything like that. I also don't want anything too serious right now. Thank you!

  • Well I know you said no Sci-Fi, but the Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy is a very funny read. It's sort of poking fun at sci-fi in a way.

  • Most of what I read is mysteries or Science Fiction. How about fantasy? Have you read Harry Potter? I read an adult fairy tail by Neil Gaiman- Stardust that was very good. Maybe Geisha? Although that isn't light, but it is interesting.

  • I have read some Janet Evanovich. She is pretty funny. I've tried to check out the Twilight Series at the library, But the stupid teenagers keep reserving it!

  • I've read and re-read Harry Potter. These are all good suggestions though. They should give me a good start.

  • One that I just finished that will make you laugh is Connie Willis: To Say Nothing of the Dog. As I said I read mainly science fiction and mystery, and this is SF - time travel- but not overwhelmingly so. I've read it a number of times and laugh every time.
