feeding schedule

What is your 8 month old's feeding schedule??? How much breast milk/formula do they have???? Just curious because my daughter is cutting back on her bottles since she gets fruit and veggies for lunch and dinner. She refuses the bottle. I tried giving her juice today with lunch cause she kept pushing away her bottle with formula

  • At 8 months they ate meals when we did with a snack between (so 2 snacks) and a sippy of formula before bed.

They were mostly on table foods at that time, just finishing up the last of the baby foods I had stocked up.

They dropped to about 32-36oz of formula per day...They had sippys of formula with each meal and before bed. With their snacks, I gave them juice/water mix in a sippy.

  • I don't know how many onces because I breastfed, but if you're worried about her not taking enough formula, I wouldn't start offering juice because that will have the opposite effect than what you want! It's normal to start cutting back a little on the formula when more solids are incorporated into the diet. But at 8 months the formula/bm is still very important, so I would offer the milk first and the solids as dessert, rather than the two as a combined meal.

  • what i had to do was have formula as a snack and juice with meals......
wake up bottle hour later breakfast, juice and cereal, hour later nap wake up from nap bottle hour later lunch juice fruit, hour later nap when wake up from nap bottle 2 hours later dinner water and veggie, 2 hours later bottle hour after that cereal bottle and bath then bed...
my son wouldnt take formula with meals, so i made it into a snack just so he would get his formula with out all the hassle......

  • I had split up meal time and bottle time by 8 mo. We would do solid food breakfast. Then a bottle a couple hours later (30 min prior to nap time). Solid food lunch. Bottle couple hours later (again, before naptime). Solid food dinner. Bottle couple hours later. She is 10.5 mo. now and is still on the same schedule...although she is drinking far less in any given bottle because she is eating more solids.
