  • It should not be used before 6 months of age. After that, it is fine :-)

  • I was told if it was truly necessary and the baby is over 6 months and you use it properly it's very safe. Infant Tylenol is even safer but Motrin lasts longer. Also be careful if you use either one with multi-symptom cold medications, most contain acetaminophen, which can lead to accidental overdose. For clarity, Tylenol is acetaminophen, Motrin is ibuprofen. Those are brands, so any of them will do we always used targets generic. So Advil is the same as Motrin as the store brand. Tylenol is the same as acetaminophen. Look for ingredients not brands.
