Can anyone give me some decorating ideas for my living room?

I just remodeled and the living room is a new addition. My colors are red, Khaki, & yellow. I do not have any creative ideas. Thanks!

  • Get some large vases or pillar candles and accent with patterns on those so it keeps your eyes moving around the room??

  • Add a textured border paper that coordinates with your color scheme or theme, or hand stencil a border around your room--either along the top edge where the wall meets the ceiling (easiest) or as a chair rail (3 feet above the floor--harder as you have to measure carefully). Can buy online.

Add picture collages of family and friends. Spray paint frames to define the grouping and coordinate with your rooms colors.

Add toss pillows or a a throw blanket accent on a chair to create more warmth. If privacy isn't an issue then keep window treatments simple...a pretty valance/topper is often enough to finish a window.

Install some "floating shelves" in a decorative symmetrical pattern. The ones that are mounted without support brackets, to display small decorative items, small books, a picture or two.

Thinking vertical and using wall space will create a more spacious look, and keep things looking neat and organized.

  • Do you have natural wood floors or wall to wall rugs? What color are the walls? Do you have much light in the room (natural light), are you a minimalist or do you like a cozy, overstuffed furniture kind of look? Will your living room double as a family room or is it a formal living room? Do you want the feel to be more casual or formal? All these things are important before anyone can give you a helpful answer. Those are wonderful colors to work with. More information would be so useful!
