Freaking breadcrumbs

How do I make breadcrumbs for coating chicken? Do I need to dry them out first or what? If I do have to dry them out, can I do it in the oven or microwave??? PLEASE ANSWER QUICK, TRYING TO MAKE DINNER TONIGHT. LOL.

  • You can "toast" cubed pieces of bread (pre-sliced bread is fine) on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Then place COOLED cubes in a sealed ziploc baggie, and crush with a rolling pin..voila!

Hint...when you cut up the cubes, and the bread is still soft/squishy...sprinkle some Italian herbs or seasoning on top, to make your bread crumbs more flavorful! :o)
