Do step parents have rights?

If parents have joint custody and the father has residental, does his new wife have any rights to the kids? If the mother does not want the step mother to attend any doctor visits or any school meetings, can she request the step parent to leave?

  • stepparents have no legal rights to their stepchildren. It is up to the BD whether he wants you there, if she wants to fight that one she will have to get a court order saying that you are not ALLOWED to be there.
