how do u even get food stamps?

  • Go to the Dept of Human Services or it may be called something similar in your town. They'll have you fill out a paper to see if your eligable.

  • I would assume that you go sign up at your locallll community based services. I dont get food stamps so I am not familiar with the service at all

  • the income levels really very by state. California is more generous and you can be working and still get them. Also it depends on how many in your household. So if you live with someone, even if they don't contribute it is counted against you.

  • Foodstamps is based on income, number in family, and they base amount on how much you pay for rent and utilities. If you go fill the papers out but also bring in current pay stubs, utilites and rent receipt, daycare receipt. They base eligibility on all of this. In the state of Ohio we are a family of 5 and we have to make lower that 2500 a month to get medicaid, but it is lower for foodstamps. It probably will be different in your state.
    You will have to go down the the Dept of Jobs and family services and wait a very long time! lol
