Why is it fair to pay disabled people below minimal wage?

  • It's not okay. That's why there's Minimum Wage. I know there's ways around it for instance serving staff at a restaurant. They get paid only a couple bucks an hour but it's (hopefully) made up by tips. But to pay a disabled person below Minimum Wage for whatever reason is not right.

  • Yes it is my husband works at a sheltered work shop for head injuries and makes $3.o2 /hr doing factory work based on fastness.

  • Oh I'm sorry...I totally read that wrong. i thought it said why is it fair to pay them minimum wage...sorry! Yeah I would look into that. I bet they get by saying its like commission though.
