do newborns go through a growth spurt at 5 weeks old?

My baby is 5 weeks old tomorrow and the last 2 nights he has been waking up every 2 hours to eat, could it be a growth spurt, we are feeding him 4 oz right now of formula.

  • Probably. There's no set time for growth spurts.

My three each took 8oz every 2-3 hours at 6 weeks. Welcome to the "Big eaters" Club! lol

  • yep, and then again at 9 and 12.. you'll get the pattern... one week they are eating you out of house and home.. lol then sleeping like someone gave them knock out juice and then the third week... you are at the store buying a size up in onesies.
