What can you expect at your six weeks post partum appointment?

  • if you had a c-section there will be an inspection of the site. Discussion on birth control adn resuming physical activity. A brief evaluation for postpardum depression and in some cases a pap (I had mine, so my annual exam was over and done with) make sure to write down any questiopns you may have so you dont forget

  • Usually your Dr. will do a papsmear to make sure everything is back to normal. They may run blood work if you were taking iron to make sure your not anemic. Also they will ask you overall how you are doing. Hope that helps :)

  • You will also be asked about contraceptive plans..I had my mirena IUD on that appointment.

  • On me they did a papsmear, felt my stomach to make sure everything was back to normal, and then had me pic out a birth control.
