Are we seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?

People seem to be spending a little more which I would thin is coming from tax refunds. The stock market has moved up over the 7000 mark. Do you think we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel or is this the calm before the storm?

  • Hopefully there are more smart people than dumb people (we can dream, right?) that are using their tax refunds to pay down debt or putting it in savings. Based on the parking lots we see driving past Red Lobster and Wal-Mart, I'm guessing not, though. Right now, retail, credit companies, and banks are all getting a little bump, and the market will go with it. What really matters is what happens in May and June when the refunds are all gone.

  • no because it happens when people always get their tax refund they go pending then complain later that they are in debt its an endless cycle i think the only way we will see the light at the end of the tunnle is when americans stop being so greedy so i dont think it will ever happen

  • obama isn't stupid, the economy would have turned around somewhere after the 18th month anyway, we have 2-3 months left. the automaker ford is already saying things for them are getting better and cnn is even showing daily where the jobs are. at&t just announced they are hiring 3000 more employees over the summer. and the banks are giving loans and always have been to the people who should have had them to begin with.
there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, unfortunately we had chicken little with a microphone telling everyone gloom and doom landed on our heads and his solution was the only way out. 63.7 million believed his lies on nov.4 and almost as many believed his stimulus crap too. fools.
